Dexim P-flip Power Play Dock
The Dexim P-flip is a foldable, portable & rechargel power dock battery. It is compact and great for travel With a 2000 mAh battery, this may prove to be an excellent consideration for a backup battery / charging solution. And at this price, I think a lot of wallets will agree. And you can't forget that they offer a few different colors to choose from.

Model: P-Flip Power Play Dock
Company: Dexim(www.dexim.net)
Compatible: iPhone 3G(S) / iPod Touch
Retail Price: $54.90
Pros:
+ Small and Compact
+ Doubles as a Dock and Backup Battery
+ Charge and Sync
+ Assortment of colors
Cons:
- Can't dock with most cases on. (Must remove case)
- Lay down angle for video viewing
Our Thoughts...
This is an excellent traveling style dock. Especially when you may go a while without any power to plug into. You can expect to get around 2 full charges from the P-flip. I never let me phone go down to "0" battery, so I got 2 full charges and still had a bit of juice left in the battery.
You can also download a free app from the APP STORE that adds alarm clock style features along with the P-flip.
The fact that you can sync and charge is a great feature. I found myself using this as a dock over night, and waking up in the morning with an iPhone that was fully charged, and an extra backup battery charger with 2 charges in it.
Now I will say, that I consider this to be more of a dock and charger type device, and not a true backup battery. When I think of backup battery, I think of a battery that you can attach to my iPhone while in use to give it extra gas in the tank. Though some may claim that you can use it while attached to the iPhone... I wouldn't recommend it. It definitely was not designed to be used that way. I found it more useful as a dock that I could place my iPhone on and charge up when I was getting close to running on fumes during the day.
This just may be my nightly dock station now. Combined with the free APP, it can sit on my nightstand as a secondary clock... or as my main clock when I'm traveling.

ISIS Memory Foam Hemp Sleeves
Isis provides some creative designed laptop sleeves. We managed to get our hands on their new line of Hemp Memory Foam Sleeves for the macbook. Yes... I said memory foam. That same state-of-the-art stuff that NASA was using. The shock absorption and heat dissipating features of the memory foam, combined with the Hemp material design created an incredible amount of curiosity on our side.

Model: Riviera Bleu
Company: ISIS (www.isisgear.com)
Compatible: Macbook and Macbook Pro Models
Retail Price: $30
Pros:
+ Memory Foam (Shock Absorption)
+ Low lip and Flip cover disign
+ Cool Hemp Material
+ ISIS charity involvement
Cons:
- Bottom of macbook slid around (when trying to move it and the macbook was open)
Our Thoughts...
I first saw these at CES, and was quite excited about the cool designs and memory foam features. I'm not a super hemp product hunter, but the implementation of hemp material into cool state-of-the-art memory foam sleeves seemed like something I had to get my hands on.
I was not disappointed when I wrapped one around my macbook. It has a natural feel to it, that almost mimics a soft cardboard. Combine that with the absorption rate of memory foam, and you will begin to understand how these sleeves feel.
Enough about the outside... the inside is just as cool. The feature that stood out the most on the inside was the low lip design. The lower half of the sleeve is noticeably smaller, but that allows you to access your ports and DVD drive without having to remove your macbook. The screen straps on the top half keep the sleeve attached to your computer.
I had the chance to take this product out and demo it for some DJ friends at one of their gigs. They seemed very interested in all the features and apparent style. They too agreed that having port access would is a great feature for people wanting to use their macbook while keeping it in the sleeve. I had to sneak out of the place before a bunch of DJ's could rob me of my new sleeve.

Otterbox Commuter TL iPhone 3G / 3GS
Otterbox has been known to put out some nice and rugged cases. The Commuter TL is a hybrid style case that offers 2 layers of protection. You get a soft silicone layer that offers bump and shock protection, and then you get the hard plastic layer that provides impact resistance. This is a case that many will find to be a great consideration.

Review

Model: Commuter TL
Company: Otterbox (www.otterbox.com)
Compatible: iPhone 3G / 3GS
Retail Price: $29.95
Pros:
+ Full Protection Case (incl screen protector)
+ Overall Performance and Functionality
Cons:
- Some colors show lint easily
Our Thoughts...
Usually when I think of Otterbox, I think of a hefty case that I can throw off a cliff into a shallow rocky creek, and still be able to call the Forest Ranger for an emergency EVAC.
But the Commuter TL is more of a slimmer design that still offers a lot of the Otterbox protection. Though not a bulky design, 99% of your phone is covered and they even have plug inserts for your earphone and port cutouts. Otterbox makes a claim that the case is not protected against water, but having the plug seems a lot better than having my iPhone skinny dipping.
The color of the silicone is fantastic. And the textured edges add a nice amount of grip to the case. Upon a closer look, the bezel is fully covered (no chrome showing) and there is a slight lip at each corner to give you that laydown protection when you feel like putting your iPhone down face-first. I also like the fact that the Apple logo in the back is protected.
All the buttons are easy to press, even with the inserts covering them, and the case didn't make the iPhone any harder to use or put away. It doesn't add a lot of bulk, and protects everything very well. I have no complaints really...

Review

Model: Naughty Naughty
Company: Ankit (www.theankit.com)
Compatible: Any audio device with 3mm plug
Retail Price: $49.99
Pros:
+ Different Styles
+ G-Bass Technology (bass boost)
+ Ankit Plants a tree for every purchase
Cons:
- not the brightest sounding
- no carry bag/pouch
- weight of the earbuds
Our Thoughts...
These earbuds definitely stand out from your everyday pair. Though I reviewed the Naughty Naughty pair (the teddy bear was not my choice), they did have a few designs that I may have found to my liking.
These earbuds do not have a mic for phone features, but I didn't hold that against them since these are meant to be music earbuds. The G-Bass technology really added a boost to the bass output. It reminded me of my highschool days when everyone was cramming huge sub-woofers into their trunks. Though I must say that these earbuds never showed signs of muddy bass while being pushed with some bass aggressive hip-hop.
I wouldn't say these are the brightest sounding earphones I have heard. In fact, I would say that the original earbuds that come with your iPhone sound a bit brighter. It wasn't bad, it just sounded like the EQ on the lower frequencies were beefed up, but the highs were left alone... or tuned down just a bit.
These earphones will go well for anyone looking for that heavier bass sound to support the Attitude of the design. Though they felt heavy at first, you start to get use them after wearing them for a bit. Young Hip-hop and Electro lovers might consider giving these a try.

Rock-it by OrigAudio
Bmonkey had loads of fun playing with this device. The Rock-it portable vibration speaker takes music from your device and generates it into vibration sequences. It sends those vibrations through the Rock-it pod which can stick to any object. Simply press Play on your device and Rock-it will turn the object into a speaker. It works great on cardboard boxes and plastic cups.

Review

Model: Rock-it
Company: OrigAudio (www.origaudio.com)
Compatible: Any audio device with 3mm plug
Retail Price: $49.99
Pros:
+ FUN FACTOR!!
+ (4) Sticky pads that can be cleaned and re-used
Cons:
- Sound Volume & Quality limited (by the object)
Our Thoughts...
Running around and seeing what you can turn into a speaker is a great way to waste time in the middle of the day. Then it turns into a competition on who can find an object that turns into the loudest speaker...then who can find the most ridiculous object... on and on.
The Rock-it by OrigAudio is one of those devices that many of your friends won't have, and you can get the "ooohs" and "aaahs" by showing them your new gadget.
The Rock-it pod has a sticky pad that allows you to stick it to just about anything. When you first open it...it is really sticky. But as it gets some use, the dirt may hinder it a bit. But a quick swipe by your wet finger quickly fixes that.
I wouldn't say this a direct replacement for speakers, like the uber cool "Fold and Play recycled speakers", but this does provide a fun alternative. The fact that this is more compact than most "social" audio devices works well with light packers.
I highly recommend finding an ice bucket at a cheap hotel and blasting MJ's greatest hits in the hallway. You might be surprised by the mixed looks from people at the end of the hall. That's how you Rock-it LOUD!

Speck CandyShell for iPhone 3G / 3GS
Speck Products came out with all new colors for their second version of the CandyShell Case. This version is proving to be a big upgrade in many ways. Speck has always been putting out some great products, and the Candyshell is no blacksheep. Combined with great colors to choose from, 2-layers of protection, and the included screen protector, you can expect this delicious looking (but not tasting) candyshell case to satisfy that sweet tooth of many iPhone enthusiasts.

Review

Model: CandyShell (V2)
Company: Speck Products (www.speckproducts.com)
Compatible: iPhone 3G/3GS
Retail Price: $29.95
Pros:
+ 2 layers of protection
+ Assortment of cool colors
+ Solid feel in your hand
Cons:
- Rubber edge and button inserts get dirty
Our Thoughts...
This new version of the Candyshell Case is definitely an upgrade. The case is more flexible so it won't snap like the previous generation. The Colors are bright and vivid, and you can expect people to notice it when you pull it out of your pocket. Yes, it slides in and out of your pocket easily (due to the hard-plastic).
This is one of those cases that is well rounded. You have a great looking case that protects your iPhone well. The rubber edge acts as a lip so that you can lay your iPhone face down with no worries (you also have the included screen protector too)!
To say it straight, this case was tastefully done, and I'm sure this will be one of the popular cases in 2010. This is one of my favorites. Did I just say Editor's Choice...?

With the sleek and compact design, this may just be one of our favorite external battery charging solutions. Coupled with the Free Dexim app (App Store Download) that will turn your iphone into a portable clock/alarm clock, this may be a great device to carry around during travel. We have heard stories of this battery charging an iPhone from 0% back to 100% battery twice! Did we mention that they have an assortment of colors available?

Our Thoughts...
I was a really big fan of the "impossible-to-get" Macbook Pro versions, and now they have released them for the iPhone. There is just something about a hard case with a soft-touch feel. Not to mention that you can still show off your apple logo through one of the many cool colors.

Our Thoughts
This is just COOL! A better rendition of a Universal Remote that isn't confusing to use. You can create any type of remote easily on this. IMAGINE, "... having a picture of your living room on your iPhone screen. Press on the TV, and your TV turns on. Press on the the stereo, and the stereo turns on." Excuse me while I clean up my drool! (Check out the demo video here)
Tiffin Smoothee

Retail Price: NA

The Tiffen Company, award winning manufacturer of still image and video accessories, announced today at the International Consumer Electronics Show, the release of the Steadicam Smoothee, a new “easy to use right out of the box” image stabilizer for use with the Apple iPhone 3Gs.
The Smoothee, developed by Steadicam, the leader in camera stabilization, now allows iPhone 3Gs owners to capture incredible video without the shakes normally associated with hand-held video shot on the go.
Our Thoughts
This would be a great little accessory to have for those making little candid videos on your iPhone. Having an actual steady cam setup for your iPhone (potentially other devices too) at a price that doesn't leave you short on your next house payment. Then again... we don't even know the price yet.
But we are very excited about this new product. This could help eliminate those nauseating videos that makes it seem like the camera man is filming during an earthquake. If this proves to be a true "consumer priced" product... you can expect this to be the next iPhone blogger necessity.

Our Thoughts...
With the addition of the Network Edition to their already great products, their backup solutions prove to be a great way to do something everyone needs to do, but never gets around to actually doing it. Clickfree already makes it very simple to backup your computer, but now they make it just as easy to backup every computer you have connected to a single network. CLICK...that was easy!

Our Thoughts...
Cool style mixed in with the fact that they have great price points makes these sleeves really standout. They have a cool style and feel to the brand name, and they don't make you pay for it! The memory foam sleeves are nicely constructed. I really liked the ones designed to be used with your laptop still inside and protected.

Our Thoughts...
There are often times when I get giddy like young kid when he walks into his favorite toy shop, and seeing the new Marvel GelaSkins triggered a slight episode. Not to mention that the art design is fantastic, but these are "removable" vinyl skins that leave no scratches and create no bulk. Simply press play on your device (iPods, MP3 players, mobile phones, laptops, etc.) and Rock-It will turn the object into a speaker.
The Fold n' Play Portable Speakers are eco-friendly, fold-able, self powered speakers. The portable 3" cube speakers can be sued with any audio device that has a headphone jack, and the slim, portable design allows them to slide easily into any laptop sleeve and won't take up added space in luggage.
Our thoughts...
OrigAudio displayed some pretty innovative products here. The portable speakers caught our attention with the hip designs. But were were even more impressed with the Rock-It (not to take anything away from the Fold n' Play speakers). They gave us a fascinating demo by placing the Rock-It on multiple surfaces and instantly turning it into a speaker (plastic bottle, shoebox, and more...). COOL!

Possible Apple Media Event Jan. 27
There has been some chatter of a possible Media Event later this month from our friend "Steve Jobs." We have been seeing the date of January 27th popping up as the popular date. We are not big pushers of fantasy rumors or anything, but don't be surprised if there is a "new product" introduced. A lot of fingers have been strongly pointing at a new tablet style product called the (feel free to take a stab at it too)...iTablet, iProd, Magic Slate, iCoolNewAppleProduct... Well, no name or actual product has been released yet, but these were some of the names we have seen floating around WWW land.
What better way to start off the new year, but with a new product? Most of Apple's existing products have recently been refreshed. News on the next version of the iPhone (iPhone 4.0) is unlikely to come before this summer, but Apple has been known to throw out a few surprises.
If January 27th proves true, this would place it after this week's CES show in Las Vegas and the highly anticipated Google event on January 5th. This would allow for plenty of comparison chatter and speculation.
